The Licensing Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), is bracing for launching a fresh bundle of 4 & 5-digit number plates in the forthcoming 10th Online Number Plates Auction bearing the M code. Registration has already started for the Auction which will be held on 24 January 2012 and roll on for 3 days. Mohammed Abdul Kareem Nimaat, Director of RTA Vehicles Licensing, said: "This Auction promises to be exceptional as it features the debut of the 'M' code; which is one of the most sought-after and popular codes judging by the recurrent inquiries frequently received from the public about the release of this code. As we are always seeking to respond to our customers' inclinations and even reward them, we are availing them this opportunity to own distinguished 4 and 5-digit plates of this code via the online auction in a transparent, clear and fair environment. "The previous online auctions drew wide public participation contributing to a huge success of the auctions as seen in the amount of revenues generated. We are therefore assigning due attention to online auctions to make them the main gateway of offering new codes in a bid to enhance the online services which are on the rise. Plates bearing 'K' code have also been in high demand with clearance rate posted as high as 70%; which has prompted us to ponder issuing a new code. "Customers who are not electronically conversant enough to surf RTA website (www.rta.ae) to take part in the online auction can always communicate with the staff of RTA Call Center through calling: 8009090 to seek assistance towards taking the steps needed for taking part in the online Auction," continued Nimaat. It is worth-mentioning that participants have to have a traffic file in Dubai Emirate and deposit 5,000 dirham, which is refundable in case no successful bid is made.
